Gauff Consultants (U) Ltd, which is partly locally owned, was established and duly incorporated in Uganda as a local company in 2002 by changing the name of one of H.P. Gauff Ingenieure GmbH & Co.’s (Gauff Ingenieure) subsidiary company, Utility Services East Africa. Gauff Consultants (U) Ltd has inherited a wealth of experience and resources from Gauff Ingenieure and as a gesture of goodwill, Gauff Ingenieure has also passed on to Gauff Consultants (U) Ltd the experienced staff with the attendant record of experience in Uganda.

Gauff Ingenieure has been established and continuously working in Uganda for over 30 years now.

Through its activities and varied experience it has developed into one of the leading engineering firms in Uganda, particularly in the fields of Water and Sanitation Engineering, Transportation and Buildings.

Gauff Ingenieure, Consulting Engineers, was established in 1958 under German Law and ranks amongst the top 100 international consulting engineering firms which specialise in infrastructure development.

The Company’s main activities outside Europe take place in the tropical and sub-tropical region of Africa where, for more than 30 years, the Company has maintained permanent offices, currently in 18 African countries.

Gauff Ingenieure has, in particular, an extensive history of work in the infrastructure projects in developing countries.

Through this, the Company and its personnel have gained substantial and invaluable experience in the tropical and sub-tropical regions.

The services that the Company has provided in these projects include planning, feasibility studies, design, design review, project documentation, tender evaluation, construction supervision and project management.

Gauff has provided consultancy services, namely detailed architectural and engineering design, tendering procedure and construction supervision for the following projects:

• Rehabilitation of Mulago Hospital Complex (1990-1995); IDA funded

• Rehabilitation and Limited Upgrading of Selected Health Units in Mpigi, Iganga, Mbale, Arua and Gulu Districts (1997-2001); IDA funded

• Promotion of Private Training Providers – Phase 1PPTP (1999-2002); KfW funded

• Promotion of Private Training Providers – Phase 2, PPTP (2003-2005); KfW funded
