ARGAWALS EYE HOSPITAL is the winner of the 2019 Uganda Responsible Investment Award offered by Public Opinions and Office of the Minister of State for Privatisation and Investment in appreciation of its contribution towards attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals .The URI Award ceremony was held on 22nd November 2019 and it was presided over by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni President of the Republic of Uganda and Hon Evelyn Anite Minister of State for Investment and Privatisation.

2.2.1 Cataract

A modern cataract surgery in which the eye's internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic hand piece and aspirated from the eye

Implantable collamer lens or ICL, called by its manufacturer Visian ICL, is a soft, flexible gel-lens used in refractive surgeries for the permanent correction of myopia (near sightedness), made of a collagen copolymer material, named by combining "collagen" and "polymer".

Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK)

Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK)

Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (“DMEK”) is the latest iteration of endothelial Keratoplasty. It leaves the patient’s cornea closer to its original condition than any other transplant technique.

Pre-Descemet's Endothelial Keratoplasty (PDEK)

A new surgical technique for endothelial Keratoplasty is described, in which the composite of pre-Descemet's layer (Dua's layer) with Descemet's membrane and endothelium is transplanted subsequent to the removal of the recipient's Descemet's membrane.

  • Keratoprosthesis

A surgical procedure where a diseased cornea is replaced with an artificial cornea

  • Keratoconus management

It is progressive increase in corneal curvature, with apical thinning and irregular corneal astigmatism. Eventually, an obvious cone-shaped protrusion of the corneal surface may develop.

  • Corneal Collagen Cross linking (C3R), Advanced Cross linking CACXL

A technique which uses UV light and a photo sensitizer to strengthen chemical bonds in the cornea
