Kilembe Investments Ltd (KIL) is a Public Liability Company Limited by Shares that was initiated with the objective of mobilizing private investment and creation of employment and improve rural setting standards of living. KIL’s Head office is on Plot 47, Rwenzori Road, Kasese Municipality Kasese District, with three branches in Mpondwe – Lhubiriha Town Council, Katerera Town Council in Rubirizi district and Kabwohe in Sheema District. Kilembe Investments Ltd (KIL) is licensed by Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) for the Distribution and Sale of Electricity from the National Grid in Western Service Territory to serve the rural areas of the districts of Kasese, Rubirizi, Sheema, Mitoma, Bushenyi and Buhweju following the commercial operations date in May 2009 and the lease agreement between KIL and the Government of Uganda signed in October 2014.

Kilembe Investments Limited’s service territory is the area outside Umeme Ltd’s footprint covering the districts of Kasese, Rubirizi, Buhweju, Mitooma, Sheema and Bushenyi. Kilembe Investments Limited is yet to take over power lines in Buhweju, Mitooma, Sheema and Bushenyi Districts. Power Lines currently under KIL are:
- Bugoye-Ibanda-Nyakalingijo with T-offs to Kyanya and Maliba TCs
- Rugendabara-Kitswamba-Kyabarungira-Kabatunda with T-off to Kithoma
