The Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Uganda was on 30th May 2017 officially recognized with The 2017 Uganda Transformation Award in appreciation of its contribution towards Social-Economic Transformation of Uganda through its commitment to support attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Uganda.
The Certificate of Award was received by H.E Domenico Fornara the Ambassador of Italy to Ugaanda.The award was presented to him by Luzindana Adam Buyinza Team Leader of Public Opinions International an organization involved in Information Dissemination, Public Awareness, recognizing individuals and agencies making tremendous contributions towards sustainable development, human rights promotion international networking,etc.
The Italian Embassy has made tremendous contributions in supporting human rights defenders in Uganda, supporting good governance programs in Uganda but the embassy as also effectively coordinated Italian organizations and companies to contribute towards development of Uganda.We note that H.E Domenico Fornara has played an effective leadership role at the italian embassy here in kampala,he has kept an open office to the people of Uganda and he has been committed to engaging all stakeholders in Uganda while promoting diplomacy between Uganda and Italy.
