The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has witnessed significant transformations under the leadership of Rt Hon Richard Todwong and Hajat Hadijah Namyalo. Todwong has instilled discipline among NRM staff at the secretariat, paid off much of the debts he inherited, and systematically built party structures at all levels. Todwong has promoted ideological clinics at the Secretariat, secured vehicles for all Members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), and organized monthly allowances for CEC members. He has bolstered closer working relationships with the NRM Electoral Commission and the National Electoral Commission. He is credited to establishing a meaningful working relationship with NRM Administrative Assistants across the country.
Todwong has curtailed party infightings; he has always avoided attending meetings or conferences in districts where the motives are about clique formation, Intrigue, blackmail and infightings. Todwong is commended for his humility, discipline, and honesty, earning respect across party lines.

Hadija Namyalo, Head of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), has an inspiring story, rising from a volunteer at the NRM Secretariat in 2009 to a top leadership position. Despite facing challenges and harassment from some leaders, Namyalo persevered.
Namyalo founded the Bazzukulu Movement in 2017, crucial in canvassing support for President Museveni in the 2021 presidential election. She has conducted district and regional conferences and meetings to strategically engage NRM people, empowered NRM mobilizers with cottage industrial equipment, and delivered food and beverages to disadvantaged people.
Namyalo has built a formidable structure of President Museveni voter protectors, penetrated and reached out to ghettos and slums to canvass support for President Museveni, and made NRM visible. She is described as the pillar of NRM mobilization.
In 2023, Namyalo was rated by Public Opinions as one of the most influential NRM personalities. Her dedication to serving President Museveni with honesty and her vocal stance against corruption have earned her recognition as a pillar of presidential mass mobilization.
Namyalo has engaged almost all groups of NRM volunteers from across the country and has succeeded in organizing a team of strong and dedicated coordinators across the country, determined to deliver victory for NRM and President Museveni.

He served as the Supreme Leader of the Uganda Poor Youth Movement from 2014-2019 when it was allegedly disbanded. He served as Chairman and Supreme Leader of Makerere University Poor Students Association (MUPOSA).
