One child, One Book Project
The significance of books is immaculate. But there are a lot of students who are deprived of this knowledge either due to lack of resources or scarcity of libraries in their region. Keeping this condition in mind, Youth Aid Africa launches “ONE CHILD, ONE BOOK” Project to establish children libraries in schools of remote regions in Uganda and Africa. These libraries will not only provide children with course books but will also contain a huge variety of general knowledge and resource books which will help in enlightening the young minds.
Youth Aid Africa will Launch Donate a Book Campaign in various schools of Uganda and Africa where students would be encouraged to submit one already read or new book (fiction or non-fiction) to their school or college administration. The Youth Aid Africa Team will collect these books and establish libraries in the remote regions of Uganda and Africa.
We are doing this so as to encourage the community to give the gift of literacy when one donates their used books to charity. So many of us have books piling up in corners, lining up along the floor, stacked in piles on desks, overflowing from our bookshelves. Your book donations can help a young child learn to love to read and change their lives for the better!
They Are Also Children like Others – TAACO Project
Our interest in empowering, mentoring and uplifting the welfare of young orphaned and vulnerable children for better tomorrow is inherently proactive. We wish to champion the education of orphans and other vulnerable children through paying for them school fees and other necessary costs. Our staff goes down to communities and with the liaison with local community leaders, they identify those children that are so needy, information is compiled to inform action by Youth Aid Africa and our Donors.
Youth Aid Africa gives its donors complete information about child including his or her financial, social, academic and personal information. This is an indirect adoption where the donor knows about the child but the child will only be a scholar of Youth Aid Africa. Children we support belong to the following categories:
- Out of school orphans.
- In-school Orphans.
- Children that are neglected by parents.
- Families with large number of siblings.
- Talented students with financial crisis in good institutions.
The fee of any child depends on his/her institution which ranges from $10 to $50 per month. Those people that are interested in adopting a child and pay his/her school fees will be encouraged to contact us and we will give them a chance to educate a child and change a life. The official Launch of this project will be in December, 2016, in Kabale District.
They Annual Youth Conference
This is one of the many youth-led and focused conferences that is convened every year by Youth Aid Africa to foster information sharing and idea generation for key alternatives for the youth to face the challenges facing society especially them. It targets the Youth Population (15 – 35 years), especially those passionate about leadership and democracy.
The Conference heavily draws from the experiences of the youth in the electoral and democratic processes within their immediate environment, they share the lessons learnt and seek to redirect their involvement and orientation in governance Processes.
