Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) was Voted for by the People of Uganda and Certified by Public Opinions as a 2017-2018 Uganda Certified TOP50 Sustainable Development Agency. A key contributor to attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) is the brand used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark when it provides humanitarian aid and development assistance to other countries, with focus on developing countries. As a Danish priority country Uganda is part of the group of poor and stable countries that have the potential to develop into robust growth economies. The past 30 years, Uganda has experienced a relatively high degree of political, economic and social stability.
The Mission of DANIDA is to contribute to the continued development of a stable and democratic Uganda which through inclusive and sustainable growth improves the prospects for the population and brings the country closer to a status as a middle-income country.
Denmark has been supporting Uganda’s fulfillment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular focusing on five goals: Ending poverty (Goal No. 1), Gender equality and empowerment of girls and women (Goal No. 5 ),Promotion of sustainable growth and decent work (Goal No. 8), Reduction of inequality (Goal No. 10 ) and Peace, justice and strong institutions (Goal No. 16).Denmark Support the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) which help to support state and non-state partners to enhance accountability and stability, and deepen democracy and respect for human rights in Uganda.
