The Department for International Development (DFID) was Voted for by the People of Uganda and Certified by Public Opinions as a 2017-2018 Uganda Certified TOP50 Sustainable Development Agency. A key contributor to attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Department for International Development (DFID) is Uganda’s fourth largest donor, behind the World Bank, the African Development Fund and the US. The department’s main priorities in Uganda are helping to rebuild the north of the country, supporting government budgets on key areas such as education, healthcare, water and sanitation and transport, and enhancing the institutions that have been put in place to improve accountability and transparency of development spending. Indeed DFID as supported the people of Uganda to attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.in 2007 the DFID allocated 700 Euros for Development of Uganda for a period of 10 Years.
The Department for International Development (DFID) leads the UK’s global efforts to end extreme poverty in Uganda, deliver the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs) and tackle a wide range of development challenges.
The support partnership is the backbone of the UK’s bilateral relationship with the Ugandan government. It signals the UK’s long-term commitment to Uganda’s development. In return the Ugandan government has agreed to focus on poverty reduction, financial accountability and respecting human rights.
