A key contributor to attainment of Uganda Vision 2040 and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The United Nations Children’s Fund, originally known as the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, was created by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946 to provide emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers around the World.
UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. Uganda is one of the over 190 countries and territories around the world where UNICEF work to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease, and discrimination place in a child’s path.
UNICEF works with the Government of Uganda and partners to keep children alive, safe, and learning – ensuring children and women live healthier lives, protected from violence and exploitation, and that children can access a quality education starting early in life
With the Intervention of UNCEF,Uganda has over the years recorded steady decline in infant Mortality.
Absolute number of HIV/AIDS-related death in children aged 0-4 years has decreased by more than half from over 100,000.
UNICEF has been working to improve the lives of children and their families. Working with and for children through adolescence and into adulthood .
Together with the Government of Uganda and partners we work towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals, the objectives of the Uganda National Development Plan, and the planned outcomes of the United Nations Development Assistance Framework.
